This project focuses photos, letters, newspaper clippings, and other archival material related to my grandfather W.I. (Bill) Hann’s service and experiences during the Second World War. It culminates in the creation of a digital archive featuring photographs taken in Newfoundland, England, Scotland, Algeria, Tunisia, and Italy, letters sent from Newfoundland, England, and Tunisia, and clippings from Newspapers in Newfoundland, Montreal, and Glasgow. Notable archival documents include W.I. (Bill) Hann’s diary, a signed menu from a farewell dinner, and a copy of the 166th Newfoundland Field Regiment’s despatches, among other interesting documents.
